Frequently asked questions

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. Reading and cleaning happen entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to any server — the whole point is privacy.

What exactly gets removed?

All embedded metadata: GPS location, camera make and model, date and time, and other EXIF/XMP fields. The picture looks the same: PNG stays PNG with no quality loss, while JPG and HEIC photos are saved as JPG at 95% quality.

Do Facebook or Instagram remove location for me?

Some big platforms strip it, but email, messaging apps, forums, marketplaces and cloud links often keep the original file — location included. Cleaning first is the safe habit.

Does it work on iPhone?

Yes, in Safari on iPhone and iPad. Choose photos from your library and download the clean copies to Files or Photos.
